February 9- Today I met Juan, we did the intake survey. I am nervous because doesn't have the basic pre-skills he needs to be able to work on a computer. Since he can't read and write in English it will be difficult to teach especially since he said he is not interested in learning about technology.
February 16- Today went okay, I don't feel confident when leaving because I really felt that Juan was confused and it was too much information for him. This mostly because he has never worked on a computer before and I was trying to prepare him when the majority of the work will probably be done by me.
February 23- I worked with Juan to write his cover letter. Since he is illiterate I would read the idea of the paragraph to him the asking probing question then write them into a paragraph. I worked to put his words into the letter to be sure that his voice would be able to come through when the employer reads it.
March 2- Today was frustrating, Juan has done many jobs and he wanted to tell me about all of them. Since Juan doesn't have his previous employers information it was difficult to work on his resume
March 9- It worked pretty well today to show Juan the basic functions of Impress. He said that he really like it so I think working with him will be good for this project. It was helpful to me to have the work all done to prepare for the presentation. Today went well!!!
March 23- Juan was not here today, I worked with Morgan and Amy, they were very open to having me with them in their group. I am hoping that Juan will be back next time so that we can continue to work with his Impress presentation.
April 6- Today I worked with Cara, I helped her with Katie partner. It was an interesting experience to work with someone else who is at a very different level then what I was familiar with when working with Juan.
April 13- I have been reassigned to Kyle. Today however, he wasn't here and so I worked with Amy C. and her KCC partner. Amy and I found that working with him on his PowerPoint where he is teaching how to do something that we aren't familiar with. It was however a successful day.
April 20- I worked with Kyle today, I was very frustrated because there was alot of miscommunication between Becky and I. That said she brought her laptop but it was very slow and we ended up not getting anything done. This was frustrating because then we ended up wasting time. Additionally, Becky didnt bring any pictures so even if her computer would have loaded we would not have had pictures.
April 27- Today I worked with Kyle, I brought my laptop today so we got a lot of work done. We finished his presentation.
May 4- Today was good, everyone's presentations went really well!!! It was definitely an experience!!!
